Turbidity Sensor
SENSING PRINCIPLE: The turbidity sensor works based on the optical scattering principle. An infrared LED emits light through the water sample, and a phototransistor detects the amount of scattered light caused by suspended particles. Higher particle concentration increases light scattering, indicating higher turbidity.
PIN CONFIGURATION:
Module Pins – VCC (Positive power supply), GND (Ground), D0 (Digital output), A0 (Analog output).
Probe Pins – Sensor + (Positive), Sensor – (Negative), Sensor Out (Signal).OUTPUT SIGNAL: Provides both analog voltage output proportional to turbidity level and digital output for threshold-based detection using the onboard comparator.
OPERATING VOLTAGE: Requires a stable 5V DC power supply for proper operation of both the sensing probe and signal processing module.
MEASUREMENT RANGE: Capable of measuring turbidity levels approximately from 0 to 1000 NTU (Nephelometric Turbidity Units).
SENSITIVITY ADJUSTMENT: Includes an onboard potentiometer that allows adjustment of the turbidity detection threshold for digital output.
RESPONSE TIME: Fast response with detection time typically less than 500 milliseconds.
OPERATING CONDITIONS: Designed to operate within a temperature range of approximately −20°C to +90°C.
APPLICATION SCOPE: Widely used in water quality monitoring systems, river and lake turbidity measurement, drinking water analysis, wastewater treatment monitoring, environmental research, aquaculture systems, and industrial liquid quality monitoring.
