Solenoid Valve (12V DC & 1/2 Inch)
WORKING PRINCIPLE: The 12V DC 1/2 inch Solenoid Valve (Normally Closed) operates by converting electrical energy into mechanical motion using an electromagnetic coil. When a 12V DC supply is applied, the coil generates a magnetic field that lifts the internal plunger, allowing fluid (water, air, or oil) to pass through the valve. In the absence of power, the valve remains closed, blocking the flow. This ensures controlled and automatic regulation of fluid flow in various systems.
MODULE STRUCTURE: The valve consists of an electromagnetic coil, a plunger mechanism, and a durable valve body with inlet and outlet ports. It features a 1/2-inch pipe connection with internal threading for easy installation. A built-in filter is typically present at the inlet side to prevent debris from entering the valve. The structure is compact, lightweight, and designed for reliable operation in fluid control systems.
PIN CONFIGURATION: The solenoid valve has two electrical terminals: Positive (+) – Connect to the 12V DC supply, Negative (−) – Connect to ground. The valve is non-polar in most cases, but proper connection ensures consistent operation.
INTERFACE CONNECTION: The valve operates on a 12V DC power supply and can be controlled directly using switches, relays, or microcontroller-based systems. For automation projects, it is commonly interfaced using relay modules or driver circuits to handle higher current requirements safely.
OUTPUT FUNCTION: The valve controls the flow of fluids by opening when energized and closing when de-energized. It ensures precise flow regulation and prevents unwanted leakage or dry running in systems.
OPERATING VOLTAGE: 12V DC
SIGNAL CONDITIONING: The solenoid valve is typically controlled using relay modules or transistor-based driver circuits. Microcontrollers can send control signals to these drivers, enabling automated ON/OFF operation for fluid control systems.
