WORKING PRINCIPLE: The OV7670 VGA Camera Module is a low-cost CMOS image sensor with an onboard DSP that captures 640×480 (“VGA”) images at up to 30 fps (0.3MP). Light entering the lens is converted to digital signals by the CMOS sensor, and the DSP can pre-process the image data before output, handling tasks such as color correction, de-noising, edge enhancement, and flicker reduction. The module supports Vario Pixel sub-sampling for flexible resolution adjustment and auto image control functions for consistent imaging quality.

MODULE STRUCTURE: The module features an OV7670 CMOS sensor mounted on a black FR-4 PCB with a magnesium alloy lens seat and all-glass lenses. The focal length of the lens is 3.6 mm. The module includes a 2×10 0.1″ output connector for easy integration with prototype boards and microcontrollers. It operates on 3.3V DC and is compatible with 8/16/32-bit MCU interfaces.

OUTPUT FUNCTION: Captures VGA (640×480) images and supports real-time image pre-processing, including color saturation, hue, gamma, sharpness adjustment, anti-blooming, lens shading correction, edge enhancement, de-noising, flicker auto-detection, and auto white balance.

OPERATING VOLTAGE: 3.3V DC

SIGNAL CONDITIONING: Built-in ISP performs noise reduction, defect correction, image scaling, and auto adjustments for color, edge, and brightness. Low-power sleep mode consumes <20 μA.
