OV3660 Camera Module
WORKING PRINCIPLE: The OV3660 camera module is a high-performance 3-megapixel image sensor designed for embedded vision applications. When powered and connected to a compatible controller, it captures light through its lens and converts it into electrical signals via the OmniBSI pixel architecture. These signals are processed to form digital images and video streams. Fully compatible with OV2640 programs, it provides a smooth upgrade path with enhanced resolution and image clarity, supporting raw RGB and RGB565 output formats.
MODULE STRUCTURE: The module consists of a compact 1/5” optical lens mounted on the 3MP OV3660 sensor. The sensor chip is integrated on a small PCB that contains necessary interface circuitry for image output and power regulation. The architecture is optimized for embedded and IoT devices, ensuring high performance in a low-power, small-form-factor design.
PIN CONFIGURATION: The camera module exposes standard interface pins for power (VCC, GND), clock, data, and control signals compatible with embedded controllers or microcontroller camera interfaces. INTERFACE CONNECTION: The OV3660 supports digital image output in RGB format, providing direct connection to microcontrollers or image processing units. SIGNAL CONDITIONING: The module internally processes pixel data using OmniBSI technology to optimize signal-to-noise ratio, dynamic range, and color accuracy. Digital RGB output is provided for direct interfacing with image processing systems.
