MG90S Micro Servo Motor
WORKING PRINCIPLE: The TowerPro MG90S Micro Servo Motor (360° continuous rotation) operates as a digital servo, converting electrical signals into controlled rotational motion. When a PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) signal is applied to the signal wire, the internal digital control circuit drives the motor to rotate continuously in either direction. Unlike standard positional servos, this servo allows 360° rotation, with the speed and direction controlled by the width of the PWM pulse. The internal feedback system ensures smooth and precise torque delivery throughout the full rotation range.
MODULE STRUCTURE: The motor consists of a compact DC motor coupled with a metal gear train and a digital control circuit, all enclosed in a durable plastic housing. The metal gears enhance torque and provide smooth operation. The servo includes a standard JR-type connector for interfacing and comes with a set of mounting horns (one-point, two-point, and four-point) and screws for secure integration into mechanical assemblies. Its lightweight design ensures easy incorporation into small robotic or RC systems.
PIN CONFIGURATION: The servo has three wires: Red – Positive supply voltage, Brown – Ground, Orange – PWM signal input from a microcontroller or servo controller
INTERFACE CONNECTION: The MG90S operates on a 4.8V to 6.6V DC supply. It is commonly interfaced with microcontrollers (e.g., Arduino, Raspberry Pi) via PWM signals, allowing precise control of rotation speed and direction. No external driver is required, as the digital servo includes an internal control circuit.
OUTPUT FUNCTION: The servo provides continuous 360° rotation with adjustable speed and direction. It delivers torque ranging from 1.8 to 2.2 kg-cm depending on the operating voltage, enabling reliable operation for small robotic platforms, RC vehicles, and automated systems requiring full rotation capability.

SIGNAL CONDITIONING: Speed and direction are controlled using PWM signals. The pulse width determines rotational speed and direction of movement, with the internal digital controller maintaining constant torque and smooth operation throughout the rotation.
