BO Motor Straight (150 RPM)
WORKING PRINCIPLE: The 150 RPM Single Shaft BO Motor is a geared DC motor that converts electrical energy into rotational mechanical motion. When a DC voltage is applied to the motor terminals, current flows through the internal windings, generating a magnetic field that causes the rotor to spin. The integrated gear reduction system reduces the motor’s higher internal speed to a controlled output of approximately 150 RPM while increasing torque. The motor exhibits elastic compliance, enabling it to absorb shock and vibration, and it operates efficiently with low friction and minimal or no lubrication.
MODULE STRUCTURE: The motor consists of a compact DC motor integrated with a straight single-shaft gearbox. The gearbox contains multiple reduction gears that regulate the output speed and enhance torque. The outer body is lightweight, typically manufactured through injection molding, ensuring uniformity and cost-effectiveness. The motor includes mounting holes for easy installation on robotic frames, and the straight shaft is designed to interface with wheels, couplers, and mechanical assemblies used in mobile robotics and DIY systems.
PIN CONFIGURATION: The motor has two electrical terminals: Positive (+) – Connect to the positive terminal of the DC power supply, Negative (−) – Connect to the ground or negative terminal of the power supply. Reversing the polarity will reverse the direction of rotation.
INTERFACE CONNECTION: The motor operates using a 3V to 12V DC power source. In embedded and robotic applications, it is commonly interfaced with motor driver modules such as L293D or L298N, which allow control through microcontrollers for direction and speed regulation.
OUTPUT FUNCTION: The motor provides a rated output speed of 150 RPM after gear reduction with moderate torque, making it suitable for applications requiring a balance between speed and load-carrying capability in small robotic systems.
OPERATING VOLTAGE: 3V – 12V DC
SIGNAL CONDITIONING: Speed control is achieved using PWM (Pulse Width Modulation), while direction control is implemented using H-bridge motor driver circuits. These techniques allow precise and flexible control of motor performance in automated and robotic applications.
