SENSING PRINCIPLE: Based on biopotential measurement, the sensor detects the electrical activity generated by the heart during each cardiac cycle and converts it into an electrical signal representing an Electrocardiogram (ECG).

SENSOR STRUCTURE: The module is built around the AD8232 integrated signal conditioning IC, which includes amplification, filtering, and noise suppression circuits to extract weak ECG signals from the human body.

PIN CONFIGURATION: 3.3V (Power Supply), GND (Ground), OUTPUT (Analog ECG signal output), LO+ (Lead-off detection positive), LO− (Lead-off detection negative), SDN (Shutdown control pin).

ELECTRODE CONNECTION: RA (Right Arm), LA (Left Arm), and RL (Right Leg) pins are used to connect biomedical electrode pads for measuring heart electrical activity.

OUTPUT SIGNAL: Provides an analog ECG waveform that can be read by the analog input pin of a microcontroller such as Arduino or ESP32.

OPERATING VOLTAGE: Operates with a regulated 3.3V DC power supply.

SIGNAL CONDITIONING: Includes built-in amplification and filtering circuits to remove motion artifacts and electrical noise for clear ECG waveform detection.

OPERATING TEMPERATURE: Functional temperature range typically from −40°C to +85°C.

PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS: Compact module with approximate dimensions of 3.6 cm × 3.0 cm × 1.8 cm and lightweight design.

APPLICATION SCOPE: Commonly used in heart rate monitoring systems, wearable health devices, biomedical instrumentation, ECG data acquisition systems, medical research, and health monitoring projects.
