4x4 Matrix Keypad
SENSING PRINCIPLE: Operates on the matrix scanning principle, where rows and columns are arranged in a grid. When a key is pressed, it electrically connects a specific row and column, allowing the microcontroller to detect the pressed key by scanning the matrix.
SENSOR STRUCTURE: The keypad consists of a flexible membrane sheet with conductive traces arranged in a 4×4 matrix layout.
PIN CONFIGURATION: R1 (Row 1), R2 (Row 2), R3 (Row 3), R4 (Row 4), C1 (Column 1), C2 (Column 2), C3 (Column 3), C4 (Column 4).
INPUT METHOD: Provides 16 push-button keys arranged in a 4×4 matrix, allowing numeric, symbolic, or command inputs to be provided to a microcontroller.
OPERATING VOLTAGE: Typically compatible with standard microcontroller logic levels such as 3.3V or 5V systems.
PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS: Ultra-thin membrane structure with approximate dimensions of 7.9 cm × 6.9 cm × 1 cm and lightweight flexible construction.
MOUNTING FEATURE: Includes adhesive backing that allows the keypad to be easily mounted on panels, enclosures, or control surfaces.
APPLICATION SCOPE: Commonly used in security systems, password entry devices, industrial control panels, home automation interfaces, calculators, and embedded system user input modules.
