OLED Module (0.96-Inch)
DISPLAY PRINCIPLE: The 0.96-inch OLED display module operates using Organic Light Emitting Diode technology where each pixel emits its own light. Unlike traditional LCDs, it does not require a backlight, resulting in higher contrast and improved visibility even in dark environments. The display contains a 128×64 pixel matrix, and each pixel can be individually controlled through the built-in SSD1315 driver controller.
MODULE STRUCTURE: The module consists of a compact 0.96-inch OLED panel with bright blue pixels and a small controller board integrated with the SSD1315 driver chip. It includes a simple charge pump circuit that converts the input voltage to the required low-voltage drive for the OLED elements. The board provides four connection pins for power and communication, allowing quick integration with development boards.
PIN CONFIGURATION: VCC – Power supply input (3.3V to 5V), GND – Ground connection, SCL – Serial clock line for I2C communication, SDA – Serial data line for I2C communication
INTERFACE CONNECTION: The display communicates through the I2C protocol, requiring only two signal lines (SDA and SCL) in addition to power connections. This simple interface makes it easy to connect with Arduino, ESP8266, ESP32, Raspberry Pi, STM32, and other microcontrollers.
OUTPUT DISPLAY: The module provides a resolution of 128 × 64 pixels, enabling it to display graphics, icons, text, sensor data, and small animations. The high contrast blue pixels ensure clear and sharp output even at wide viewing angles.
OPERATING VOLTAGE: The display supports an input voltage range of 3.3V to 5V, making it compatible with most development boards and embedded systems.
SIGNAL CONDITIONING: The onboard SSD1315 driver chip manages pixel control, refresh timing, and communication with the microcontroller. The integrated charge pump circuit regulates voltage levels required for OLED operation.
PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS: Display Size: 0.96 inch, Resolution: 128 × 64 pixels, Interface Type: I2C, Display Color: Blue, Dimensions: Approximately 2.7 × 2.8 cm, Weight: Around 5 g
APPLICATION SCOPE: Commonly used in embedded electronics projects for displaying system information, sensor readings, and graphical indicators. Typical applications include wearable devices, smart instruments, robotics interfaces, portable meters, IoT devices, and small display panels for Arduino and microcontroller-based systems.
